A friendly wait, and a big celebration.
Need a hand, spotted a bug, or have an idea? We'd love to hear from you.
Email supportHow do I add more time? During a countdown, press and hold the “Hold here to unlock” pill to open the parent controls, then add a minute — or end early.
Does it need the internet? No. Everything runs on your device, offline, all the time.
Is there anything my child can break or buy? No. The app is free to download and try for 3 days. The only purchase, a one-time “Full unlock” to keep using it, sits behind a grown-up hold gate, the same one that guards every setting and early exit, so little fingers can’t reach it. There are no ads, and the only links out (to email support or rate the app) sit behind that gate too.
Do I have to pay? Koala Countdown is free to download, and every character and mode is unlocked for a 3-day free trial. After that, a single one-time purchase of AU$2.99 (“Full unlock”) keeps it working. There's no subscription and no recurring charge, and Apple handles the purchase.
I already bought Koala Countdown. Do I pay again? No. If you bought the app before it became free, the update unlocks everything automatically, with no trial and nothing to pay. Just open it once with an internet connection after updating. If you ever see the trial or the unlock screen anyway, email us and we’ll sort it out.

Koala Countdown does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information whatsoever. No accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no internet connection is required.
The app saves a few small preferences on your device only, so it remembers your settings: the last timer length you chose, the last character you picked, and your favourite friend. These never leave your device, aren’t linked to you or your child, and are removed if you delete the app.
Everything above describes the app, which remains entirely offline and data-free. This website — koalacountdown.com — separately uses cookieless, anonymous visitor analytics: no cookies, no cross-site identifiers, and nothing that identifies you. That applies to the website only, never to the app.
Koala Countdown is intended for young children under a parent or guardian’s supervision and is designed to comply with COPPA, GDPR-K, and Apple’s Kids Category requirements. Because the app collects no data at all, there is no personal information for anyone to use, disclose, or protect.
